Maples Flowers is a Hertfordshire based florist. We have been around since 2014 and have grown steadily since then. From small beginnings we have evolved into a well established business that can meet the needs of, and provide outstanding flowers to all of our customers including the smaller clients that supported us in the beginning and our larger, event management clients. We believe in quality of service and treat our clients like members of an exclusive club. We value their custom. The majority of our work is repeat business and referrals. With a vast client base and being positioned on the outskirts of London, we cater for all aspects of floristry work. No day is the same and the range of work covered is extensive we do it all.

Full Time Florist

We are a busy luxury florist based in Hemel Hempstead. We are looking for an experienced, florist with a positive attitude, amazing customer service skills, team player and someone who can run the shop independently and work well under pressure.

Attention to detail is a must. At our shop, we offer beautiful hand tied bouquets, funeral flowers, wedding designs, soy wax candles, plants, gifts and various workshops. Your must have a lot of experience creating contemporary and elegant designs to deliver to our target audience.
The job-holder will be a valued member of the Maples Flowers team, with responsibility for helping to produce exceptional floral designs and installations for our customers.

Our customers include a top selection of hotels, restaurants and event venues in, all of whom expect a flawless execution of the services we have committed to provide to them. Florists play a vital role in making this happen, and need to be committed to going the extra mile when necessary – settling for nothing less than perfection and quality.

The role calls for a combination of passion, creativity, flexibility, team-working, interpersonal skills, organisation and planning, attention to detail, and staying calm under pressure.

Duties

  • Working as part of a team of florists
  • To assist in overseeing the ordering of flowers and other items within budgets
  • Preparation of vases, materials and equipment in the workroom
  • Conditioning and preparation of flowers in the workroom
  • Styling displays and installation of agreed floral designs on and offsite
  • Loading and unloading of vans
  • Driving to and from customers’ premises
  • Tidying up and removal of waste after installation
  • Break down and clearance of previous installation
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Experience in Wedding floristry is a must
  • Experience in designing and installing confident, imaginative and forward-thinking floral designs
  • Creativity and passion
  • An ability to plan ahead and be organised
  • A team player
  • Advanced knowledge of flower varieties and floristry techniques
  • A strong understanding of customer needs, delighting them and going the extra mile
  • Excellent knowledge of the flower industry
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and able to work under pressure
  • Experience working in the flower industry
  • A commitment to continuing their professional development
  • Good oral and written communicator in English
  • Computer literate
  • Be able to answer phone calls in the professional manner and take the orders/payments.
  • Full UK driving licence essential

Schedule

Full Time Hours
Here at Maples Flowers you will do a 5 Day Working Week, Our working week is Monday - Sunday, Hours are usually between 8.30am - 5pm, on occasions our hours will vary depending on the work load (ie, Valentines Day, Mothers Day and Wedding Season). Your Hours will be based on a Monthly Rota.
