Make sure you select a focal flower, a larger headed flower like a Rose would be perfect and much easier to handle.
Always prepare your flowers before trying to create your hand Tied bouquet - Clear all roses of thorns and other flower free from excess leaves and painful nodules.
Always start with your focal flower in your left hand and using your right hand to add to the bouquet. (Reverse if your left handed) Every third stem or so, turn the bunch using your right hand
Finish off your bouquet with the hardiest stems to protect the softer steamed flowers, this will help stop the string cutting into the softer stems
Trim the Stems gradually to fit your container, testing as you go along - you can always cut shorter. The stems should touch the base of your container.
Practice makes perfect and it's all about trying and trying again.
There are just some tips but you will find that some techniques will also work and every arrangement can be different.
